Located 18km (11 miles) northeast of Zhaoqing, Dinghu Shan is a range
of heavily forested mountains reaching up to 1,000 meters (3,280ft)
in height.
The whole mountain range has been designated an area of special
interest by the UN and there are at least 17,000 types of plants
growing in this area. In the hills there are lakes, waterfalls,
temples and pavilions. Baiyun Temple was built during the Tang dynasty
(618-907) and Qingyun Temple was built during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644).
