Located in the west of Henan Province, Sanmenxia has jurisdiction
over 1 district, 2 cities and 3 counties, and covers an area of 10496
square kilometers with a population of 2.1 million. With adequate
transport facilities, Sanmenxia City is the only passageway connecting
the northwestern region with Central China. Rich in mineral products,
Sanmenxia is a key development zone as an energy resources and chemical
base of the country, and ranks second in both gold production and
reserves. Tourism resources are famous for rivers and antiquities.
Scenic spots include Tour to the Yellow River, Yangshao Cultural Ruins,
Hanguguan Pass, Jingshan Huangdi Mausoleum, the tombs of the Guo State
