Longzhong
Longzhong
Located 13 km west of the city of Xiangfan, Longzhong is the home of Zhuge Liang, the celebrated stateman and strategist of the Three Kingdoms Period. In folklore he was regarded as a symbol of resource and wisdom.

Zhuge Liang (181-234) is also known as Kongming. He was born in Shandong Province and once lived here for ten years. In 207,Liu Bei made three calls on Zhuge Liang to ask for the strategy for unifying the whole country. He put forward the strategy of taking Jingzhou, Yizhou and uniting with the Wu Kingdom in opposition to the regime of Cao Cao. This is the noted article "Reply at Longzhong". Zhuge Liang subsequently left Longzhong and began to assist Liu Bei.
